It's easy to see why people visit Grand Teton National Park, given its hiking, romance, budget-friendly accommodations, and resorts.
The beauty of the park is truly a sight to behold, especially at one of the various outlooks. The Oxbow Bend outlook is great for bird watching and getting views of Mt. Moran while the Cathedral Group outlook offers views of the three highest peaks in the range: Teewinot, The Grand Teton, and Mt. Owen. The park has a long history of being home to American Indians along with cattle ranchers. You can explore the Indian history at the Colter Bay Indian Arts Museum which features Indian artifacts and a presentation of the park. Explore the history of the ranchers at the Chapel of Transfiguration, an Episcipalian log cabin which is best known for their stained glass windows that feature images of the mountain landscapes in them.
Surrounding Area

One of the largest areas is Colter Bay Village, located on Jackson Lake, where you'll find mountain cabins, an RV park, a grocery store, and a few restaurants. The village is open from the end of May to the beginning of October, annually. The Jenny Lake and Signal Mountain areas feature some of the most popular hiking opportunities and each have camp grounds for visitors to use. Just outside of Grand Teton is Yellowstone Park, the national park famous for their geysers and hot springs.
Grand Teton is one of the best places to enjoy adventure activities such as bike riding, canoeing, and hiking. You can take a 2.5 mile hike to the Hidden Falls, a group of gorgeous waterfalls and white waters. From the falls, you can continue up to Inspiration Point which offers some of the most beautiful views of Jackson Hole and Jenny Lake. The trail continues on to Cascade Canyon and Lake Solitude, making it the perfect, full-day, hiking adventure. If you prefer something a little cooler, you can go canoeing along Snake River, beginning at the Jackson Lake Dam going towards the Pacific Creek Landing Takeout. This route takes you past some of the most beautiful views of the Teton Range. While you're out there, keep your eyes peeled for eagles and pelicans.
